2nd Annual Thanksgiving Meal in a Bag Program

Monroe County Hospital’s Spirit committee is in full swing with its 2nd annual Thanksgiving Meal in a Bag program. “This program was designed by our spirit committee to help provide a Thanksgiving meal to people in our area that or sick, shut in, or caregivers who may not be able to go out and buy or prepare a meal for the holiday. We are going through our area healthcare agencies (home health, hospice, chemotherapy, radiation therapy) to get these bags out to the people who need them.” stated Sheffield Public Relations Director for MCH “These bags are purchased by donations of $20.00 per bag, and that buys 1 canned ham, string beans, candied yams, rolls, pound cake, and peaches. Each bag will feed a family of 2 to 4 people. We were able toexceed our goal last year of 100 bags by putting together 144. This year our goal is 200 bags. The response has been overwhelming already this year. Our count as of today is 76 bags, and with everyone’s support we hope to reach our goal” stated Sheffield. To purchase a Thanksgiving Meal in a bag please come by the hospital’s cashier office or mail your check to Monroe County Hospital 2016 South Alabama Ave. Monroeville, AL 36460. Please put on the memo line “Thanksgiving Meal” Each bag is assembled with a festive cover stating This thanksgiving meal has been provided to you by (your name or company name). “Please help us reach our goal, and give something back to our community” stated Sheffield.
