Scale Back Alabama 2009 Monroe County Hospital will be an official weigh in site for the 3rd annual Scale Back Alabama competition. The Scale Back Alabama competition will begin with the official weigh in the week of January 10-16th. Scale Back Alabama is a 10-week weight-loss program. Participants will compete in teams of four, and for every team that completes the 10-week contest with each team member losing at least 10 pounds the team will be included in a drawing for one of three grand prizes. (first team drawn will win $250 each, second team drawn will win $500 per team member, and third team drawn will win $1,000 per team member). All individuals who lose at least 10 pounds will be included in a drawing for one of 50 achievement prizes of $100 per person, regardless of their team's achievement. These drawings will take place on April 1.Sponsors for this program are Alabama hospitals,the Alabama Department of Public Health, Barber's Dairies, and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama.
