The Monroe County Hospital Diabetes Self-Management Education Program has been recognized by the American Diabetes Association for Quality Self-Management Education.
Support Group
Monroe County Hospital also offers a diabetes support group to the community free of charge. This group meets the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 7:00pm in the hospital cafeteria. Topics may vary each month regarding diabetes care. No Appointment is necessary.
Class Schedule
The DSMEP(diabetes self management educational program) classes are scheduled by appointment only. This one-on-one education session is taught first. This session lasts approximately 1 1/2 hours. A follow up group class is recommended.

Medicare and insurance requires a referral from your physician for reimbursement (provided your insurance plan covers diabetes education and or MNT)
