Tree of Love Fund Raising Goal Set
The Monroe County Hospital Auxiliary announced its Holiday Tree of Love fund-raising goal last Thursday.
According to Auxiliary president, Ann Downs, the organization hopes to raise $9,150 during the campaign to buy an Eclipse Premier EKG machine for the hospital’s Cardiopulmonary Department.
Brochures have been mailed to former donors and forms are available in the hospital lobby. Persons may also call Tara Nowling at (251) 743-7453 or email at tnowling@mchcare.com to request a donation form.
Individuals may dedicate lights on the Tree of Love in honor or in memory of someone. Lights are a minimum of $5 each. Donations between $5 -$19 are called love donations; $20-$99 silver donations; $100-$499 gold donations; and over $500, diamond donations. Businesses are also encouraged to recognize employee or board member honorees. Names of honorees and donors are inscribed in a book and acknowledgements are promptly mailed to the honoree or the family of the honoree.
The names of the honorees will be read during the tree-lighting ceremony on Thursday, December 8 at 6 p.m. in the hospital lobby. The public is invited to attend the tree lighting ceremony. Donors are invited to bring the person being honored or the family of the individual in whose memory a light has been dedicated. Refreshments will be served in the lobby following the ceremony.
This year the auxiliary plans to buy a $9,150 Eclipse Premier EKG machine for the Cardiopulmonary Department. Since 1987 the Holiday Tree of Love program has purchased over 33 pieces of hospital equipment from the community’s donations.
Names of the honorees and donors will be published in the Christmas issue of the Monroe Journal.
