Barnyard Benefit: Big Success
Monroe Health Foundation's "Barnyard Benefit" at Jess Martin's barn was a huge success, thanks to the community's support! "We really appreciate the role that everyone played in helping us raise close to $31,000 to renovate the hospital's outpatient clinic," said chairperson, Chris Jones.
The lead corporate sponsor for the night was Alabama River Pulp. “ARP continues to be so supportive of the healthcare efforts in our area,”, said Pattie Welch. “We are really proud to name them as our lead sponsor!”
Corporate chairperson, Judi Burns, had an excellent response from the corporate community! The generous corporate sponsors included Alabama Power Company, Billy Barnes Enterprises, John B. and Rebecca Barnett Charitable Trust, Crowne Investments, ExecuFlight, Feaster Oil, Frontier, Gericare, Harrigan Lumber Company, Hornady Trucklines, Monroe County Bank/BankTrust, Omni Agency, Owens Lumber Company, People’s Exchange Bank, Prouty Real Estate, The Medicine Shoppe, The Orthopedic Group, PC., Village Pharmacy, and Vanity Fair Intimates. “These companies were so generous in helping a great cause,” said Burns. “Each company’s names will be featured on a plaque at the hospital.”
Laurie Bullard, silent auction chairperson, put together a great collection of items for the silent auction portion of the night! There was something for everyone and the proceeds from the auction yielded close to $7000!
"We really appreciate the support we received from the business owners and vendors," said Bullard.
The best part of the night was that the entire evening was dedicated to the memory of beloved physician
and Monroe Health Foundation Charter Board Member, Dr. Tim Jones.
“Since the inception of the Monroe Health Foundation, Dr. Jones never missed a fundraiser,” said Welch. “We commend his dedication to supporting events that benefit our community and this is just a small way we can show that he will always be remembered.”
Approximately 320 people were on hand to enjoy the night of bluegrass, blues, and barbecue! And it truly was a night to remember! |
