Tree of Love Ceremony Planned The annual fund drive for the Monroe County Hospital Auxiliary’s Holiday Tree of Love has begun. Brochures have been mailed to former donors and forms are available in the hospital lobby. Donations of $11,000 are needed and will go toward the purchase of a recovery room patient monitor, CPR training equipment, and a remote transcription system. Donations for this annual project come from the community. A person may dedicate a light bulb on the tree in honor or in memory of someone. Names of honorees are inscribed in a book and acknowledgements of the gift are promptly mailed to the honoree or the family of the honoree. Serving on the Auxiliary’s Holiday Tree of Love Committee are Fannie Reid, Judy Croft, and Carol Jordan. A new fir tree has recently been planted near the front entrance of the hospital and will serve as the Holiday Tree of Love. At the ceremony on Thursday, December 11th at 6 pm, honorees will be read aloud by hospital officials and musical entertainment will be furnished by the MCH Quartet: Rita Cooper, Emma George, Wanda Downs, and Kathy Johnson. A reception will follow in the hospital lobby. The public is invited to attend.
