Education Seminar for Healthcare Providers to Benefit Foundation
On September 23, the Diabetes Education Program will sponsor an educational seminar for health care
providers titled "Current Management Trends in Diabetes" at the Monroe County Agricultural Extension auditorium
on Agriculture Drive in Monroeville. Speakers will include specialists in the field of diabetes management,
including Ken Helms, RN, BSN, CDE. Mr. Helms was the 2002 American Association of Diabetes Educators
"Camp Counselor of the Year" for the US. The University of South Alabama will provide Dr. Falkos, who will
speak on Diabetic Emergencies in the Pediatric Population, among other presenters. Several drug companies
will be present with "goodies" for participants to take home. Admission cost is $50.00 (7 CEUs); all proceeds
benefit the Monroe Health Foundation Diabetes Program. Pre-register early, as seating is limited, by calling ext.
369 or 384.
